BIRD.

Bird is an interesting project housing the functionality of an observatory. It is exploring timber construction with the technique of wood bending.

It sits in the middle of the forest looking out in the sky about to take its flight into the stars, metophorizing and leading towards abstraction of its form.

The form of the Bird is also a derivative for intended directionality as a functional demand.

The entire structure is broken down into various grades of Glulams based on the rational of load transfer. These glulams based on the hierarchy is analysed for the number of lamellas, its bending curvature and its orientation, showcasing its viability for construction.

The project is detailed out for a certain portion.

The sizes of these glulams do not take actual loading in to consideration since the project focuses more on the technique.
