RESEARCH & METHODS: COSMOGRAMME WORKSHOP

//ADVANCED URBAN DESIGN GROUP COSMOGRAMME

The projects developed within this theme focus on creating design proposals for the urban environment, by looking into big data, nature-based solutions, urban densification, new infrastructure as well as territories and landscapes.
Within this context, a new paradigm arises for the design of the future urban environment which redefines the form and performance of buildings and public spaces. It leads us to question the ways in which the production of resources can be integrated into new urban landscapes.
The project investigates the way that neighborhoods, public spaces and infrastructure are currently generating and managing waste.

//ADVANCED URBAN DESIGN INDIVIDUAL COSMOGRAMME

Even if all new buildings will be nearly-zero energy buildings, due to the fact that buildings are assets with a long lifetime, at current renovation rates it will take over 100 years to renovate the entire EU building stock. This research looks at building components that can be dismantled and reused to extend the life of the building.
