RUFFLESRUFFLED TRANSFORMATIONS

The objective of this exercise is to apply computational design strategies as a form finding tool. The exercise is focused on a tridimensional manipulation of a simple sphere performed by combining multiple transformations.

PROCESS

Starting by dividing a surface of a sphere in both UV directions, followed by separating the points in two groups, joining them alternately, creating wavy curves and finally applying a ruled surface function between the two, I was able to transform a sphere into a ruffled bubble .PROCESS

The transformation is controlled by scaling or moving the center point of one of the groups of lines.
