Track your self” An Exercise for the students to understand the data mapping world. Here the students were advised to download a tracking app on their devices and track them self while roaming around in Barcelona. At the end of the assignment they where told to share all of their data and where guided to create a map of them travelling through Barcelona.

Procedure:

  1. All the Students were told to download a tracking application supporting their device.
  2. The students in this class tracked themselves for a month and then .kml files were shared on the drive.
  3. After a month of tracking all the people those shared the files a mapping was done on the basis of the data provided from the tracking application.
  4. Using Grasshopper components a map was created by tracking 5 peoples from different research lines in IAAC.
  5. Data taken from all this 5 different people was merged  in one script and a map was created to see how many times did this people cross each other in a month.
  6. Also to see what all places does different research lines people travel in Barcelona.
  7. To surprise the Self – sufficient and design with nature traveled far along the shore lines will intelligent cities and digital matter just traveled from institute to home and back.
  8. Also how to connect all the data together and representing was one of the task.Slide1 Slide2 Slide3 Slide4 Slide5 Slide6
