The Cloud

The Cloud is an installation to reutilize the remains of the old Mercat de l’Abaceria Central. Only the steel frame is left, so the goal is to create an artificial natural shading. The modules resemble single particles forming a cloud like structure when aggregated together. The placement is decided by an algorithm evaluating the sun radiation throughout the cooling period. In the cycle of a day the modules themselves inflate and deflate when needed in order to optimize their shading effect.
