INFORMED INTERVENTION: AERIAL DRONES FOR CONSTRUCTION SITE

Syllabus

In the context of digitizing the construction industry, robotics first implementation on site seems to target the acquisition of data of the building environment to better match digital workflow.
In particular more work is expected in the scanning of existing building in refurbishment work, for further integration in a Design to Production workflow with digital and robotic fabrication.

Aim

The MRAC workshop “ Informed Intervention” will explore a digitizing workflow in the design process, by  involving Drones and Computer Vision; combined with digital design and mass customized fabrication process for refurbishing.

Objectives

Students will learn and practice technologies at the core of this workflow and propose a digital architectural intervention that adapt its shape and configuration to a particular building that will be 3d scanned by drones.
