The task given to us was to take up an element of Mies Van Der Rohe’s Barcelona Pavilion, and create a recursive design whcih is not just aesthetically pleasing, but also has a function. For this purpose, instead of using an existing element, the wall has been extended to a panel. The panel is used as a visual barrier, without giving a closed-up feel and not blocking the flow of the space. It also helps block the glare from the pool.

Step-wise procedure for generation of model

1. A panel of 4m x 0.3m was taken up, facing the shallow pool.  The bas of this panel was defined from which the base is taken into grasshopper.

The panel, with its organic form looks like a field of daffodils. The shape helps channel the wind into the exhibition area, therefore doesn’t become a wind barrier. But at the same time it helps to block the glare from the shallow pool. It is basically for the purpose of a visual barrier with an aesthetic appeal.
