POKKET

How can 3d printing with clay enhance the growth of moss and spontaneous plants within the urban environment? Pokket this thematic through the design of a vertical structures for re-naturalization. The system consists of pots and and a bio receptive ceramic surface that are stacked on top of each other. This disposition will guide the water that is used to water the plants to flow over this surface and bring soil particles into the pockets that will allow for the growth of vegetation.

A selection of different pots consisting of two sizes has been design to host both plants and the pollinators and birds by offering bird houses and bird-feeding areas and baths. Between every pot a tile with the bio-receptive surface is placed.

Through a solar analysis on the area the disposition of the plants in each pot has been decided according to its solar exposure needs and the pot dimension requirements.
