PHYSICAL SOUNDSCAPE

Physical Soundscape is an interactive prototype which visualises the density of different districts of Barcelona by varying the frequency and volume of sound in accordance to produce different patterns of sound waves. The device utilizes a subwoofer which receives a series of remapped density values and translates these in frequency which in turn form a series of patterns on a liquid layer of alcohol. The density of the patterns corresponds to the density of each district.

“Physical Soundscape” is a project of IaaC, Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia
