ONE OCEAN PAVILION by SOMA

Theme Pavilion Expo Yeosu, Yeosu-KR, 2O12

Selected as the first prize winner in an open international competition in 2009,  It is largely known for its fish-like characteristics created by a cutting-edge façade system that is made-up of glass fiber reinforced polymers (GFRP) capable of being morphed into a number of animated patterns. 

COMPUTATIONAL LOGIC

  • Create a surface.
  • Get first curves.
  • Move curves and gaussian. 
  • Loft curves with predetermined list.
  • Make attractor point along length of surface.
  • Connect attractor point to gaussian curve slider which is connected to the loft.
  • Offset loft for thickness.
  • Add color
