How much meat do we produce in Spain?

How much of it do we consume?

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

With 46’5 millions of citizens and 50 millions of pigs, Spain is considered to be one of the main exporters in the meat industry.

Despite the economic benefit (specially for the six provinces in which half of the total outcome is produced), the beef, poultry and pigmeat production are alarmingly increasing the consumption of energy and waster and consequently the carbon dioxide emissions.

Against this we can see how the consumption of meat is actually decreasing in Spain, specially in Catalunya, where ironically, most of the meat production is taking place.
