The structure is based on a simple triangular component that interlocks exponentially. In order for the mesh that is created to achieve the desired curvature and porosity, the component can be manipulated mainly in two ways; through the joinery and the width of the component itself. Starting from a basic unit, several variations were developed where the edges of the component curve inwards or outwards, allowing for controlled porosity and creating a lace-like e ffect on the structure, with some areas in the hexagone being denser and others more porous. A variety of joints are designed on focal points of the components, thus providing many possibilities for neighbouring components to slot in and create di ferent curvature, both on the components themselves and the structure as a whole, seeking to achieve controlled porosity towards the assigned point.
