The Premise.

Water is the lifeline of this planet...The Project aims at addressing the multiple issues faced by the magnificent city that is venice. For ages the interventions that were done in the lagoon of venice has caused rise to issues that are almost impossible to solve. There is a gradual increase in the levels of water in the city and the lagoon of Venice. The fragile city is now sinking. The solution to the problem would have to deal with not tackling water but to flow along with it. 

    The proposal is a system that could address the major issues being faced at the moment. It also aims at creating a blank canvas for the future. The system is subdivided into three categories which are Performative landscapes, Self Sufficiency and Energy Production.

   The system adapts the principle of buoyancy. The  project aims at floating on the surface of water.

Catalogue – Minimize Fitness Values

Genome

  • Control of the seed points to generate different types of accommodation for the amenities.
  • Iteration of a gene pool for the creation of different charges for the 2D metaballs.

Performance Fitness

  • Minimum utilization of the area based on the thresholds in the metaballs and the genome iterations.

The Fitness Value here is minimized to give optimum surface as this part of the system would harbour energy production units and hence minimum area is needed for public spaces.

Fitness Value as – Maximize

The Fitness Value here is Maximized as this part of the system in venice consists of public spaces and parks and hence would need more surface area but at an optimized level.

Hence the entire project could be as adaptive as possible based on the uses and location that the system would exist.
