ABOUT THE PROJECT
The concept of the exercise was to create a flexible tensile pavilion, the location – IAAC rooftop. The goal was to use a base pavilion geometry and create iterations via the Kangaroo physics engine. By exposing the base geometry to forces of nature such as wind, load, gravity , the base geometry morphs into varied shapes and sizes. The shape of the pavilion was inspired by a tree and the shadows its branches create. Anemone has been used to create the structure for supporting the mesh. Form finding process has been driven using Kangaroo.
