“Nature is by far the richest source of inspiration and knowledge that we have.”

The Efficient route mapping system, a responsive facade system, which is inspired by nature, is able to respond to the sun movement and to generate the most efficient route to map on the diverse kind of the architecture facades or shelters.

In nature, the vines and most plants have the same characteristic.  Plants grow efficiently and flourish based on the ability of phototropism. Applying in architecture, the efficient route mapping has a huge potential for its diverse adaption. For instance, it might be able to be the wastewater treatment system for the building to process and drain the water or it might be the airflow control system which is the main factor in the self-sufficient building.

Therefore, in this practice, I would also try to apply the script in several buildings and different geometry shapes to develop the potential of the system.

Above pictures are the grasshopper script to explain the processing of generating the efficient route mapping on the referred geometry.  In the following video, it has more detail explanation that how the facade system response to the sun movement. To be noticed, in this practice, the sun movement does not refer to the realistic location.
