The project:

The setting for this project begins in a dark room with different colored lights flashing on and off in response to the symphony of drum pads projecting a range of beats with different notes and intensities.
The technology:
A drum pad is connected to sensors using Arduino producing white LED lights; Along with these responses to the sound, projected visuals will be will be synchronized with music notes produced by Abelton’s library through processing.
The pad has been designed with rhino, made by black acrylic and laser cut. It contains 7 boxes following a real drum installation. Each box produces a type of sound (cymbals-toms-snares-claps).

The concept:
This project serves as a metaphor for the process of life from birth to death.
Birth: when the room is dark and the first drum hits and the first light appears.
Adventures of life: the intensity and frequency of the sound increases and so the pad LED lights and the visuals
Death: The intensity and frequency decrease and so the lights till the last one. The room gets back to its darkness.
