IAAC_[Drone]ported environments

[Drone]ported environments is a project developed as a thesis proposal . Proposing a new way of delivering aids to besieged areas is the main focus of the project . These aids are mainly insect farms carried by drones . These flying artificial environments will try to reach the delivery target points and start producing high energy foods . Using “ Processing “ , i will be able to simulate many aspects of the proposal :

  • Simulate the activity of the drones ( considered as particles in my script ) flying above the city of Aleppo and trying to collect data in order to detect the right place to land and start production .
  • Using the particles-springs system I will be able to maintain the stable distribution of the particles in field guaranteeing the right distribution of the food sources for most of the starving civilians .
  • Distribute the target point ( attraction points in my script ) that will work as attraction points for both civilians and [drone]ported environments . These points are to be the landing points of the farms and at the same time the collection points of the civilians .
  • Simulate the movement of the civilians ( agents in my script ) towards the collection points ( or the attraction points in my script )

Technically , processing classes and arrays were applied to execute such process . Every particle is connected with springs to all other particles . Creation of a new particle can be done with a “ mousepressed “ function that will append the list of particles to insert a new one . This new particle will enter the same system and draw immediately its connections with all other existing particles . The system created that is based on the Hooke’s law will always manage to give stability to the group of particles and adjust its positions according to structural studies . Attraction points , by creating attraction fields , will manage to attract agents by imposing a “ steering “ vector for the agents movement vectors .
