Data Visualization For the assignment of data visualization we wanted to work with data related with our studio interest. In studio, our current research topic is to understand the material behavior undergoing changes due to the change in external parameters like vibration, force, electromagnetic field etc. As a part of this effort, we are studying some natural phenomena caused by the shifts in the parameters of nature to understand the structure and dynamics of waves and vibration. Here we used the real time data of earthquake in different region of the earth. An earthquake is the result of a sudden release of energy in the Earth’s crust that creates seismic waves. The seismicity or seismic activity of an area refers to the frequency, type and size of earthquakes experienced over a period of time. Earthquakes are measured with a seismometer; a device which also records is known as a seismograph. The moment magnitude (or the related and mostly obsolete Richter magnitude) of an earthquake is conventionally reported, with magnitude 3 or lower earthquakes being mostly imperceptible and magnitude 7 causing serious damage over large areas. source:

We used the real time data source from the U.S. Geological survey and here particularly we showed the most recent earthquake data of 14th February. We used the data of longitude latitude to put the points in exact positions. Then we used cylinder of different height representing the magnitude of the earthquake and circular areas to show the depth of the earthquake. Data Source:
