BLOOM – A responsive façade

The project was developed in an attempt to optimize micro climatic conditions of an interior space. A responsive panel fixed to a window or façade blooms according to climatic factors (sunlight and humidity)which could help maintain a balanced microclimate inside a building / a room.

MECHANISM

The responsive panel is at its full bloom when the incident sunlight intensity is high. When the humidity inside the building is at its highest, this panel closes to maximize air and sunlight in the space. A light sensor in the room detects the varying lux values in the room and in turn enables  artificial lighting when required.
