Abstract

The Peri-Highway Morphe aims to create geometry around the highway at Llobregat Agripark, Barcelona. This is done by creating boundary surface around the highway and creating voxel over it. The cull patterns are created by revolving helix around the highway curve and and then later eliminating the voxel’s that comes in the helix’s path. To explore more on different forms that can be obtained, Biomorpher plugin was used. Biomorpher takes data of number of genomes i.e. the variables that can be used to alter form and figures of the geometry (such as number sliders). These genome data along with the geometry in context is applied to the biomorpher which later gives different geometry to work with. After number of resolving data’s- you get a catalogue of designs. Biomorpher helps in getting the optimum design that can be used to morph around the highway which can also be connected with other plugins like Ladybug for further investigation.

The Site

The site consists of boundary surfaces around the highway at Llobregat Agripark. The red line is the base curve that goes over the highway.

Objective

Pseudo Code

The above process can also be connected with the different plugins such as Ladybug to analyze the incident radiations on the geometry formed by biomorpher.

Grasshopper Codes

Genomes

Biomorpher Output

The catalogue shows the iteration in the design where the desired designs are selected in one generation and them iterated to other generations until the final design is obtained. The cavities in the design are created with the help of helix passing along the highway. The genome is also connected to the width of the pathway to extend the design options.

Ladybug Catalogue

Ladybug analysis shows the incident radiation falling over the design. Designs with different openings was later analyzed with respect to the development around highway.
