plan

The aim of the Backbone drawing machine is to create an automated system to achieve randomly formed various drawings through the use of laser cut plexi glass material as the backbone for carrying the pens on the paper without any external support and interference and arduino to direct the pens around the paper. The system is automated though using random coding system to make various drawings on paper. It is composed of three motors basically fixed on specially designed arms and joints from laser cut 5 and 3 mm ‘s plexi glass.  Pens of 0.05 mm’s are fixed to the main joints of the system by using fish wires. The acrylics are cut in thin pieces to decrease the whole weight of the system that is working as the backbone of the whole mechanism. Controlled through random coding, various drawings can be achieved.

It is a developable system that can be multiplied in the number of pens on one arm and by  the number of arms on the paper to achieve more intensive drawings on paper.
