REFERENCE FACADE
Junction 9 is a reimagination of a two-story building in the historic Calgary neighborhood of Inglewood. The project was a development of a screen of vertical fins which was made of abandoned 100-year-old fir. The design replicates the flowing movement happening inside the building.

Parametric design was used to capture the sense of movement. A topographic relief of varying depths applied to the vertical fins creates an alternating field of opacity and transparency when viewed from different angles, putting the screen in a constant state of flux.
The screen morphs from a vertical to a horizontal application above the front entry, forming a soffit condition that bleeds into the main reception area.
