Future Mobility & Fab City Design Strategies at MaCT's First Term Reviews

This week, the students of the Master in City & Technology have been presenting the results of their first term of studies at the FAB City Design Strategies studio and Future Mobility seminar reviews.

New social values and emerging communication technologies challenge the way we live and move, as well as the way we plan and design cities.

The target of the Future Mobility seminar is reflecting on these issues through a project of the city of Barcelona: the renewal of the Diagonal Avenue linked to the interconnection of existing tramways.

The role of students has been to critically review the proposals already presented by the Local Council, further elaborating their own.

The FAB City Design Strategies studio aims to build a body of knowledge between urbanists, designers, economists and architects, trying to address big questions related with the future vision of cities, based on three main approaches: Urban Data, Urban Strategies & Urban Models.

These subjects are being tackled both in theoretical and practical ways, experimenting with professionals in the field from all over the world.

The Master in City & Technology focusses on the needs for the habitability of the 21st century cities and the significant role of technology for the formation of the new urban environments.

IAAC proposes this new Master program oriented in training Change Makers that City Government Administrations, the Industry and Communities need in order to develop projects for the transformation of the cities.
