IAAC Day 2016: Meet the people behind IAAC!

Last Saturday 5th of march IAAC Staff and Faculty gathered for a social event to celebrate the growing and diverse team who’s making the Institute a success.

Fifty team members coming from fifteen different countries joined the social event hosted at the Valldaura Labs, in the Collserola Park.

After a short introduction by IAAC founders Vicente Guallart and Willy Muller, describing the first class of the Master in Advanced Architecture 15 years ago, the new departments Project For The Self-Sufficient City and Barcelona Urban Sciences Lab were presented to the team.

Co-founders Areti Markopoulou, Tomas Diez and Lucas Cappelli, also brought the team back in the years to the first Advanced Architecture Contest and the creation of the FabLab Barcelona and Academic Programs as we know them today.

IAAC Master & Research, FabLab Barcelona, Valldaura LabsCommunications and Administrative Departments closed the round of presentations explaining their goals and focus for the forthcoming year, and introducing to the previous colleagues the new staff members who recently joined the team.

The meeting was followed by a delicious paella prepared by IAAC Administrative Assistant Alberto Espada’s Catering Firm and a walk through Valldaura park by Green Fab Lab coordinator Jonathan Minchin.
