ADAPTIVE PNEUMATIC SKIN

 

Our concept is inspired by the breathing skin idea and its appearance trying to create changing transparency with the use of sensors (volume/movement), air balloons with air pipes to create a facade that changes according to the solar radiation.
Breathing skin is an epidermal façade that can adjust its permeability according to its environment. It adapts to the fluctuating conditions of the external environment so that it can maintain control over and normalize the internal environment. The use of air to mediate factors such as heating and cooling through dynamic solar shading and  ?breathable` membranes, is still a relatively unexplored area of building science. This experimental work can be understood in the context of biomimetics, a new branch of engineering, which takes its inspiration from natural systems and their analogues.
