The Robotic City
The Library of Speculations
Seminar Faculty: Winy Maas, Adrien Ravon, Javier Arpa  – The Why Factory

In this seminar we develop the Library of Robotic Speculations, imagining the future of technologies and how those could change the planet, the human body and the way we inhabit our cities.
From smart cities to biotechnologies what are the implications of robotization on the build environment? Can we map the evolution and advances of robotic technologies? How? Can we obtain an overview of the current and future technological innovations?

Halfway between science and fiction, we will speculate and develop future scenarios – from now to then. We will produce future visions exploring the evolution of cities and the ecosystems that inhabit them.

This library of future scenarios will be developed leading to visionary urban design. During the seminar, a multitude of sectional drawings will be produced, including the Earth’s crust and atmosphere, solid environments, or dynamic, organic and gaseous surroundings. How will automation, robotics, nanotechnologies and genetics transform our cities in 50, 100, 150, 200 years?
