//Cosmogramme – Advanced Algorithmic Studio

Planning and design in urban context comprise of multiple systems at different scales, from the larger scale of the city to the smaller scale of elements of a building. We, at the Advanced Algorithmic design studio, explore different scales through our projects RE{CODE}, City Loop, Vedic algorithmic design, and Decode Puuc.

//Cosmogramme – RE{CODE}

The structure of the cosmogramme follows the ethos of the thesis. It is understood as a series of inputs, processes, and outputs interwoven with feedbacks.

//Overview

Thesis aim and objectives

//Framework

Global and local context along with frameworks by OECD, UN, and EEA as initial inputs.

//Urban performance

Deriving key factors of socio-economic vulnerabilities from the context and frameworks as further inputs for GIS mapping.

//Statistical Analysis

Using the GIS mapping with a composite statistical dataset to analyze vulnerabilities in the city.

//Design Protocol

Projects that tackled one or several similar aspects from the analyzed vulnerabilities are studied as state of the art. In addition to this, the analyzed data serves as the basis for the design protocol. This also serves as a reference point to determine the initial input for the protocol – Program catalog.

//Relationships

A performance relationship is established between the vulnerability factors and the programs based on the state of art, frameworks, GIS mapping, and statistical analysis. This relationship serves as input for the design synthesis.

//Platforms

The above inputs, processes, outputs, and feedback forms the basis to design the platform that analyses the socio-economic vulnerability in the city and provides solutions of an ideal opportunity for the stakeholders.
