Phi – Base rotating installation

This assignment wants to investigate applications and implications of looping and recursive strategies reframing the topology of one or more components of the architectonic organism.

The geometry was created by the use of anemone plugin for grasshopper. The geometry follows the golden ratio base that is visible in nature in abundance.

Script Explanation

Stage 1

A circle of variable radius is to be divided into a variable number.

Stage 2

The points are then rotated perpedicular to the lines joining them. The four points are joined to get rotated squares.

Stage 3

The squares are rotated along the previous lines that we joining the original points at a variable angle and converted into a surface

Stage 4

The surface is to be scaled down and moved up at 2 variable locations. The 2 surfaces are to be lofted together

The resulting geometry is capped and converted into a mesh. The mesh smoothened using weaverbird plugin.
