CONCEPT

VOID, is a personalized space located on the roof of IAAC. The initial design is defined by the columns and a structure following these members.
The installation is a lightweight structure that responds to wind, movement and light. Users can play with these variables and shape the VOID in different forms.
The inner part of installation is a resting space that have plant pods inside the voids in the columns. Water is collected from the voids above the columns for the plants. Whereas, the outer part creates shading and transparency for the space.

DESIGN PROCESS:

1.Select initial boundary

2.Define a new set of boundary by random points

3. Cull random points for extrusion

4. Select points using list item and extrude columns in various heights

5. Merge all breps and create the base geometry

6.Activate BouncySolver in Kangaroo

7.Deconstruct mesh structure

8.Deform mesh structure using different variables

For surface deformation:

9.Populate geometry on mesh surface

10.Use attractor points around columns and deconstruct surface using ImageCircles in Kangaroo2

11.Deform the surface by trimming the circle extrusions

12.Deconstruct new mesh structure
