This experimentation aims to create a structure using nature forces as design parameters with the help of Kangaroo as a tool.

Design inspiration : Taking inspiration from Frei Otto’s tensile membrane structures, proposing a light weight pavilion on the terrace based on the  principles of structures based on complete tension.

Interactive strategy

– Create the boundary curve of the area for the pavilion.

– Create a mesh surface from the curve.

– Extract the mesh corners.

– Place the other anchor points as per the desired heights and the location of the points as per the design requirement of entrance to the pavilion.

– Put strength to the several anchor points added in the script.

– Using gene pool command, fix the heights of the anchor points at the top.

– Click the reset button to start the simulation.

– Move the points or create new ones.

– Each time you move an element, reset the simulation.

– Start again
