FORCES OF NATURE-STRIPED

The base mesh (which can be of any planar shape) is first stripped to get a system of ribbons.

While the vertex loads controls the amount of deformation, a graph mapper is also added so as to obtain a custom/unique profile.

The ribbons can be used together or alternatively and by varying the number of strips, a ripple like effect is created.

The forces used in this example were vertex loads, edge lengths and pressure.

The behavior of the mesh is further enhanced and controlled by the length and elasticity of the inner and outer curves.

After the form finding process, the mesh can further be subdivided and smoothed for a better shape.
