Cooling is one of the major concerns of buildings in hot climate. The problem is exacerbated by the heat gain of the roof and flat concrete facades, which
constitutes 70% of the total heat gain. Urban heat islands describe local-scale temperature differences, generally between urban and rural areas.
The material scale of the building fabric has to be rethinked in a way to
stimulate direct and indirect cooling strategies. The flatness of the facade could be transformed into a porous one; similar to our biological skins: able to absorb and perspire.
Evapo-rosity is an evaporative cooling performance of porous silicone within a humidity buffering base, to neutralize the thermal heat gain.
