Over population and mass consumption has created a major problem concerning the production of the human demands. The massive production of crops is causing degradation in the productive land, making it less productive every year. Can populated settlements attract arable land ? Using a circle packing script in Processing software we were able to create the attraction points. While combining it with Amira, medical scientists software which is used to 3d model MRI scans of the human body, using the frames of the animation we were able to simulate a volume creating the density of the attracted points. This is a good example of combining two different software that are used for different purposes for this exercise to make an urban/architectural analysis. The concept of arable cathedrals consists of attracting productive land forming a cross that represents the historical and religious background of Rome. The attracting points surrounds the settlements in Castelli to create a connection between the human footprint and the nature. Axial production (in this case) will save space and have more area for production and at the same time will make an interactive and dynamic environment for the users to live in balance with nature. The plan for Rome 2025 is to sustain productive land leaving a scope for degradation creating a self-regenerating system. Arable Cathedrals is a place of sustainable production, where spirituality in nature and coexistence in society can be found.
