CIRCULAR ECONOMY: SYSTEMS MAPPING

// THESIS TOPIC:

The research investigates alternate methods of managing CDW and relooks at building components that can be dismantled and reused to extend the life of the building.

// SYSTEMS MAP:

The systems map looks at increasing the percentage of secondary building components for construction projects in Barcelona by considering 6 main categories – availability, application, categorization, assessment, procurement and environmental impact.

// STAKEHOLDER ASSESSMENT:

Multiple interdisciplinary teams are required to carry out this project including design teams, recovery specialists, suppliers of material and regulatory bodies.

// HURDLES & OPPORTUNITIES:

The possible contributions of the different stakeholders are studied and their level of influence is mapped.

// TIMELINE:

The timeline helps us understand the next steps that are to be taken to achieve the goal of using more secondary materials in building construction by 2050.
