INSPIRATION & REFERENCE

British born – Indian Architect, Laurie Baker, was an architect who dedicated a good part of his life towards low cost housing programs. He used local craftsmanship, traditional techniques and materials, which he then combined with modern design principles. One such element he implemented was Brick Jali Walls, a perforated brick screen, which allows natural air flow to keep the interiors cool, while creating patterns of light and shadow.

Architectural Prototype

This Prototype adds a dynamic effect on the conventional Brick Jali work. This has been created by not just the difference in the angle of rotation of the bricks but also their placement in an orderly disrupted way along a path, creating a dynamic pattern.
