This week our guest lecturer Josep Miás, invited as part of the Winter Lecture Series 2016, inspired the audience with his lecture: On Cloud Nine.

Josep Miàs is an Architect from the ETSAB Barcelona. Associate Architect at Enric Miralles’s office from 1990 till 2000 and since then Principal of the award-winning practice MIAS Architects in Barcelona, he’s committed to research and experimentation, and new approaches to technology, fabrication and construction.

Miàs is known worldwide for works such as Fontanals Golf Club, Banyoles City Center Urbanization, Barceloneta Market, 22@Plug-in Barcelona Building, iGuzzini Barcelona Corporate Building among others.

Mias presented in his lecture The Cloud, the project for the Andorra Telecom HQ which will be the new reference in the country. An outstanding building due its technological innovations, that will capture the desire of change and progress of the country.

The project has been explained in parallel with the iGuzzini company building and showroom, located by one of the roadway hubs of Barcelona, in a fragile condition of stability on the site where it sits.
