Winy Maas and the Why Factory Back at IAAC for the MaCT Robotic City Seminar

We are very excited to announce that the third edition of the MaCT Robotic City Seminar, led by MVRDV Co-funder Winy Maas, with Adrien Ravon and Javier Arpa from The Why Factory, will kick-off at IAAC in a few weeks.

From smart cities to biotechnologies, what are the implications of robotisation on the build environment? Can we map the evolution and advances of robotic technologies?

Halfway between science and fiction, the seminar will develop future scenarios exploring how will automation, robotics, nanotechnologies and genetics transform our cities in 50 or 200 years.

Students will develop a “Library of Robotic Speculations”, imagining the future of technologies and how those could change the planet, the human body and the way we inhabit our cities.

During the seminar, a multitude of sectional drawings will be produced, including the Earth’s crust and atmosphere, solid environments, or dynamic, organic and gaseous surroundings.
