SPACE10 Visits IAAC Barcelona and Meet Current MDEF Students

Invited by Fab Lab Barcelona Director Tomas Diez, SPACE10 Lead Creative Producer Mikkel Christopher and Fabrication Specialist Noe Bhandari visited IAAC last week, to meet the current Master in Design for Emergent Futures (MDEF) students and present them SPACE10’s mission and facilities.

Their visit was the occasion for us to announce the launch of the second year of the Master, which will allow MDEF students to continue their innovation agenda under an acceleration model of development, focused in turning final projects of the master program into living platforms for research, business development, or impact in the maker community.

In the framework of this second year, SPACE10 announced their offer of a six-week paid residency in Copenhagen, providing one selected student a monthly stipend, a working space in the SPACE10 premises and all the materials needed to develop a project during the stay.

SPACE10 is a research and design lab on a mission to create better and more sustainable ways of living. Headquartered in Copenhagen’s meatpacking district, SPACE10 is spread across three floors of an open-plan building with workspaces, a Test Kitchen, an exhibition space, a mixed reality lab, a vertical farm, a fabrication laboratory and an open space for events.

SPACE10 collaborates with MDEF since its launch, also offering a full scholarship to the prospective students of the Master’s first year. The results of the 2019 Scholarship Call will be announced on June 3rd at this link:
