Manual of the Tube
Mistakes
- Each object is a planer object, meaning;
Consideration of the thickness of the material was compromised.
Our material was 2mm wood so it did not really mattered
but when we are using thicker materials in the future
it has to be taken in to consideration in the design process.
- Miscalculation
In the process of making joints, we miscalculated the diameter
and we had to do it all over with CAD.
- When exporting from Rhino
some of the pieces were not completely splited and we had to create
some of the joints with CAD.
- Connection
In the concept process we decided that our model should be isolated from
the outer tubes. Eventually for the connection circle we used four attached
points which seemed not strong enough to hold up our relatively heavy model.
- Product
We divide the longitude sections in to 18 pieces. Eventually our tube seems
heavy and enclosed visually.

Digital Fabrication: Assignment 2

November 19th, 2007 admin Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

This is my process and results with 3D printing using the Rapid Prototyping Technology. In the Digital Fab class they give us a cube to design inside some specifics dimensions and area so this way we can interconnect with other cube’s. In my work what I did was twist the elements in different directions and different thickness in every way.

You can see here some pictures and renders of the final result and the digital model.

Identity

On the advertising or publicity, the brand’s identity is its fundamental means of consumer recognition and symbolizes the brand’s differentiation from competitors.

The term of digital identity is usually taken to mean the online equivalent of an individual human being or in some cases organization, companies and even individual electronic devices.

In the genetics field, the genetic identity it’s the characterization of an individual’s genome (The entire collection of genetic information) by developing a unique DNA band (allele) pattern.

Symmetry

November 13th, 2007 admin Posted in Readings | No Comments »

Harmonious, proportionality and balance. Symmetry reflects perfection. It’s a correspondence in size, shape, and relative position of parts on opposite sides of a dividing line or median plane or about a center or axis.

The human body is a great representation of symmetry, by extension, the natural universe. In architecture the ability of a large structure to impress or even intimidate its viewers has often been a major part of its purpose, and the use of symmetry is an inescapable aspect of how to accomplish such goals.

We can see Symmetry every were, Symmetry in mathematics, Symmetry in logic, Symmetry in Biology, Symmetry in telecomunications, Symmetry in history, religion, and culture, Symmetry in Social Interactions, Symmetry in music, Symmetry in architecture, etc.
