I have 2 blogs to study, analyze and to write some thing about them….

www.ecossistemaurbano.org

www.edgargonzalez.com

        One of them I can’t open it, the second one…but peter already told about this author. I start reading the first one and then I found a subject on which I am eager to learn more. Then, some questions aroused, mainly: “green” cars, true or false?

As an architect and a human being, I’m very much interested in bio-matters, because I think that the environmental questions are assuming a central role in all matters of life on this planet. Do you know that 1 litre of used kitchen oil contaminates 1 million litres of water?! So, in a time when fossil fuels are vanishing, why shouldn’t we use oil to produce a hydrocarbon such as biodiesel?! There are many advantages of using bio-fuels, from the environmental preservation point of view, which influence all aspects of our lifes, including the economy, health, quality of life, etc…

        I think that the increase of oil prices is positive if it will lead the Govern to invest strongly on renewal energies, to stimulate the use of the electric automobiles and, for this matter, to reduce CO2 emissions. Expensive gasoline can make a real push on better quality of life. It’s somehow a paradox, but it’s true!Some other environmental advantages of bio diesel:

·        It’s produced from renewable materials, recovering residues (vegetable oils, fat, grease);

·        Diminishes pollution of the atmosphere, because it considerably reduces the emissions of carbon particles (up to 50%). It practically doesn’t contain sulphur (<0,001%), which allows to diminish the sulphur-dioxide (SO2) emissions;

·        When burned on combustion engines, it releases exactly the same amount of CO2 that the plants have absorbed on it own growth period, leading to a optimum equilibrium;

·        It doesn’t contain benzyl or other poliaromatic cancer components;

·        It easily decomposes for soils absorption in case of accident;

·        It is not considered as a dangerous fuel (auto-ignition point above 110º Celsius);

·        It’s a renewable source of energy that can represent an important contribution for the reduction of the dependency on fossil fuels.

Some other economical advantages of bio diesel:

·        Reduce the needs of fuels imports from the Middle East and other producers;

·        Tax incentives will probably be a reality for this kind of green-fuel;

·        It contributes to reduce countries’ fines on the CO2 emissions;

·        Has a higher lubricant capacity than regular diesel, increasing the life expectancy of the engines;

·        The production and distribution of bio-diesel will enhance a new set of economical activities within the boundaries of the country, which will also increase labour needs; ·        It can be used on every engine or industrial generator without making any changes;On the other hand, one disadvantage of bio-diesel can be the rise of costs of food materials due to the occupation of agriculture fields with plants for producing bio-diesel. This must be taken into account.

 Two kinds of key words:

  1. key words on the process :

5     planet

5     hydrocarbon

5     biodiesel 5     kitchen oil5     water

5     fossil fuels

5     same kind of plants and cereals

2.  key words of the product (biodiesel):

5     CO2 emissions

5     our life quality / health

5     economics advantages (the country who’s produce biodiesel, diminishing him economic dependence).

5     environmental preservation 5     social advantage (creations of work ranks - the units of production of biodiesel are industries of intensive work).

5     energy advantages [a ton of biodiesel could become to function, for a superior period, a generator from 300 hours, removing of this form (considering an efficiency of 30% of the engine and 90% of the generator) a very superior amount of KW to the necessary one for its production].
