is the world completely urbanized? is urbanization a consequence of industrialization? if so, where are the city-limits?

globalization is nothing new… it dates back to the old testament. back then it capped our understanding of the known world through the technological means of the time. today it could be viewed as the internationalization of culture through media. in order to think global, shouldn’t we think more of Globality?

The previous posts reflect the idea that a change of collective consciousness is essential before any substantial improvement is realized so as to find solutions to those problems which threaten our own existence as a civilization. This problems go from the widely public(s)ized and well marketed climate change, to immigration, to poverty, to war, etc…

It is impossible to go against the stream, and sometimes it is better to join the enemy to try to accomplish change from within… what this means, perhaps, is molding to particular situations and working with those very resources which have absorbed us into a mind controlling system, which has made us dependent to what it has to offer. But we must first rethink our behavior and our understanding of globality

The first issue that comes to mind is sustainability. What is sustainability? Do we really know what it implies?

It appears that emergence of the “New Information Society” is directly geared to support the strengthening of a consumerist society…

The teaching practices and methods do nothing but reinforce this notion. The common person is targeted as a consumer who needs a product to stay up to date, as a user who depends on a product and as a builder and participant who helps promote a product…

It seams that the reality of our dominant western society is that of one dominated by corporations which are programmed on automatic pilot to increase their profits, and our present reality is molded to fit this. Our future, it appears, depends on how we mold to our really presents…
